oung srae ans 34th Annual Banquet - 1*-• 1.4 At a parlor meeting held Wednesday evening in conjunc- tion with the 34th anniversary banquet of Young- Israel of De- troit, Meyer Eisenberg, general chairman, stated that over 500 guests are expected to be pres- ent at the event. The banquet, planned for June 2, at the Latin Quarter, will feature a presentation of classical music by Detroit so- prano Emma - Schaver. Emil Co- hen, popular English-Jewish hu- morist, will entertain. Young Israel nationally has 78 branches serving over 32,000 youngsters. In the Detroit area, a Young Israel Council has been organized under the chairman- ship of David I. Berris, to co- ordinate activities of the three existing branches. . Land for a fourth youth cen- ter was purchased recently on 101/2 Mile Rd. and Raine in the northwest portion of Oak Park.
