' Dr. Jacques Gottlieb, direc-
tor of Lafayette Clinic and pro-
fessor of psychiatry at Wayne
University, will be the principal
speaker at the annual meeting
of the Jewish Social Service
Bureau.
The meeting, held jointly
with Resettlement Service, is
scheduled for May 19, it was an-
nounced by Mrs. J. Shurly Hor-
witz, chairman of the planning
committee.
Consideration will be given to
a number of proposed by-law
amendments dealing with the
development of the agency's ac-
tivities, including committee ex-
tensions, membership and a pro-
posed change in •the agency's
name.
The annual report will be pre-
sented, and election of new
board members will take place.
In his address, "A Community
Program for the Emotionally
111," Dr. Gottlieb will discuss
the availability and adequacy
of existing services and where
new facilities may yet be de-
veloped.
Dr. Gottlieb was formerly di-
rector of Jackson Memorial Hos-
pital in Miami, Fla. and profes-
sor and chairman of the depart-
ment of psychiatry at the Uni-
versity of Miami college of med-
icine.
He held similar positions at
the State University of Iowa. He
is the author of many articles
on investigative work in the
field of psychiatry.

Student to Counsel
at Camp of Childhood

A physical education major
at the University of Michigan
will be . able this summer to
realize a promise given her by
Mrs. Meta Riseman, of the Rise-
man summer camp.
Judith Hack spent four sum-
mers during the ages of 9 to
12 at Riseman Farm Camp.
During her last stay she was
perinitted as one of the "older
girls" to assist counsellors in
supervision of younger children
during inclement weather play.
She got along so famously with
the little ones that Mrs. Rise-
man proiniSed to hire her as a
counsellor when she reached
college age.
Miss Hack has since received
tempting job offers from camps
in Iowa and Michigan. She
elected, nevertheless, to return
to the camp at which she spent
summers as a child.
For the past four summers,
she has attended the National
Music Camp at Interlochen.

Max Osnos, president of Sinai
Hospital this week 'announced
the appointment of two phy-
sicians to the hospital staff.
They are Dr. Saul Brown,
who has been named assistant
pathologist, and Dr. Raymond
Gagliardi, appointed associate
radiologist.
Dr. Brown, a graduate of
Wayne State University Medical
School, is the first Sinai resi-
dent graduate to receive certi-
fication as a medical specialist.
He served part of his resi-
dence at Children's Medical
Center, Boston, Mass., before
coming to Sinai. The native De-
troiter holds certification as a
pathologist with the American
Board of Pathology.
Dr. Brown will work with
Dr. Sidney Kobernick, • chief
pathologist at Sinai, and will
be in charge of the hospital's
blood bank, bio-chemistry and
mirco-biology programs. He also
will assist Dr. Kobernick in the
tissue study program.
Dr. Gagliardi, a graduate of
Yale Medical School, served as
chief radiologist at Lynn Clinic
for seven years. He will head
Sinai's X-ray therapy and iso-
tope programs, -and assist Dr.
Howard Feigelson, chief ra-
diologist.
