WASHINGTON, (J T A)
Members of the Daughters of
the American Revolution
walked out of a DAR conveh-
tion when a speaker made anti-
Jewish remarks.
The speaker was identified
as Rear Admiral John G. Crom-
melin. He was quoted as at-
tributing to George Washington
a statement that "the Jews work
more effectively against us than
does the enemy." Those who
objected to his remarks were
members of the Pensacola, Flor-
ida, chapter of the organization.
Commenting on such inci-
dents, DAR President General
Mrs. Frederic A.- Groves warned
DAR members to "be careful"
about the things they say. "We
never indulge in persecution of
minorities," Mrs. Groves said.
