Yiddish Novelist Mastbaum
Dies; Was to Get WJC Award

TEL AVIV (JTA) — Joel
Mastbaum, 75, noted Yiddish
novelist and newspaper writer,
died here Friday. Mr. Mast-
baum, who was born in Poland,
arrived in Israel in 1933. On
the 23rd of this month Mr.
Mastbaum was scheduled to
receive an award from the
israel section of the World
Jewish Congress for his con-
tributions to Jewish culture.
