pendent Zionists of America, to
take place in New York, May
11 to 12, was developed at a
meeting of the organizations'
administrative committee.
The Assembly is expected to
adopt aims and objectives for
the new organization and to
elect a national administration.
It will also select a permanent
name which will reflect the or-
ganization's new approach to
Zionism.
Judge Louis Levinthal is pro-
visional committtee chairman.
A program committee headed
by Ezra Z. Shapiro is in charge
of plans for the national found-
ing assembly.

to Launch Child Drive

The Detroit Council of Pio-
neer Women will launch its an-
nual World Jewish Child's Day
campaign Sunday with a can-
nister drive .throughout Detroit
and Oak Park. Chairmen of the
drive will be Mrs. Louis Dia-
mond, who has headed the proj-
ect for three consecutive years,
and Mrs. Phillip Field.
All proceeds derived from
the campaign will help bring
500 young people monthly from
North Africa, Egypt and Eastern
Europe to Israel. The immigra-
tion and integration of the im-
migrants will be maintained
through the Child Rescue Pro-
gram of Youth Aliyah.
Two later projects in connec-
tion with World Jewish Child's
Day include a dance, to be held
on April 13 at Adas Shalom
Synagogue, and a children's
theater party, April 24.
Mrs. Norman Leemon is gen-
eral chairman of World Jewish
Child's Day.
