Student leaders of senior
classes of high schools, includ-
ing Central, Mumford and Oak
Park, and representatives of
the freshman class- of Wayne
State University, have met and
drafted preliminary plans for
the third annual Institute for
Jewish Graduates of High
Schools, to be held May 8 at
Temple Israel, it was an-
nounced by Hoke Levin, Insti-
tute chairman.
Nan Scholnick, president of
the Mumford senior class, was
elected chairman of the stu-
dent co-ordinating council for
the Institute. Renee Schiff, of
Central, and Allan Scher, pres-
ident of the first senior class
of Oak Park High School, was
elected secretary.
Sponsored by the Jewish
Community Council in co-op-
eration with other communal
institutions, the Institute is be-
ing organized in response to a
widely-felt community need to
acquaint Jewish high school
graduates with the Jewish com-
munal resources and services
available to them. Trained per-
sons who have long been active
in handling the various prob-
lems of youth will participate.
Participating in preliminary
discussions were: Burt Faudem
and Jerry Gross, Wayne State
University; Al Friedman, Cass;
Oscar Glieberman, Central; Mi-
chael Marcus, Oak Park, and
Sandy Schrut, Mumford.

show consisting of her mono-
logues and sketches at Tuesday's
program. Since coming to the
U. S., she has published three
volumes of poetry.
