Yeshivah to Host
PTA Convention

Yeshivah Beth Yehudah will
be host this Sunday to the Mid-
western convention of the Na-
tional Association of Yeshivah
PTAs. Principals and PTA lead-
ers from many Midwestern ci-
ties and Canada will be repre-
sented at all-day conference,
according to Rabbi S. P. Wohl-
gelernter, Yeshivah executive
vice-president.
At the morning session, which
begins at 10 a.m., Rabbi Chaim
Nussbaum will speak on "What
is PTA?" Rabbi Nussbaum is
head of the Hebrew Parochial
School of Toronto, Can. Princi-
pals and PTA heads from Pitts-
burgh and Toronto day schools
will participate in the discus-
sion.
Main speaker at the luncheon
session, to begin at 12 noon, will
be Rabbi Wolf Dessler, head of
the Hebrew Academy of Cleve-
land. His topic will be "The
Objectives of ,Yeshivah Educa-
tion."
"Linking Hebrew Day School
Education with Everyday Liv-
ing" will be the subject of the
afternoon session. Speakers will
be Dr. Max Kapustin, director
of the Hillel Foundation of
Wayne State University and
vice-chairman of the board of
education of Beth Yehudah;
Rabbi Ury, head of the Hebrew
Academy of St. Louis; Rabbi
Meyer Eisemann, of the Torah
Academy of- Minneapolis; Rabbi
Rephun, head of the Central
Yeshivah of Chicago, and Rabbi
Meyer Belsky, educational con-
sultant of Torah Umesorah.
Dr. Joseph Kaminetsky, na-
tionally known Jewish educator
of Torah Umesorah, will be the
principal speaker at 8 p.m., at
a public meeting in connection
with the conference. His topic
will be "What Is The Day
School?"
All sessions of the conference
will take place in the Daniel A.
Laven Building of the Yeshivah
with the exception of the public
meeting which is to be held at
the Mogen Abraham Synagogue,
Dexter at Cortland.
The public is invited to all
convention sessions.
