school. The scene took place
at the House of Living Juda-
ism, in New York, home of
the Union of American He-
brew Congregations.

Center's Older Adults
Slate Purim Programs

The aaturday Nighters, an
older adult social club of the
Jewish Community Center will
participate in the Older Adult
Purim Party, to be held this
Sunday, at the D. W. Simons
branch, 4000 Tuxedo, states Sam
Fine, president.
The club also will cancel a
program on March 23 to attend
the Mothers' Clubs annual
Purim Masquerade Ball. The
group will next meet on April
6 for dancing and refreshments.
A new series of square dance
classes for older adults will be-
gin at 8:30 p.m., April 11, at
the Simons branch. The sher,
patch tanz and korosuchka will
be taught by Sy Sims. Regis-
tration is open through March

"Hillelzapoppin," 10th annual
campus show sponsored by the
Bnai Brith Hillel Foundation at
the University of Michigan, will
be presented March 23 at the
new Ann Arbor High School, on
Stadium Blvd., Ann Arbor,
Mich.
The show will include six
separate acts staged by three
sororities, two fraternities and
an independent housing group.
The group producing the most
original skit will receive a 28-
inch trophy donated by Herbert
0. Schlager, Ann Arbor resi-
dent.
Since the. trophy was first
presented, Sigma Delta Tau so-
rority has won three times, Zeta
Beta Tau fraternity four times,
the independent group twice
and Phi Sigma Delta fraternity
once. Last year's winner was
Sigma Delta Tau.
This year's entrants include
SDT, Delta Phi Epsilon and
Alpha Epsilon Phi sororities,
Phi Sigma Delta and Phi Epsi-
lon Pi fraternities and a group
of men and women students
from various residence halls.
Detroiters on the `Hillelzapop-
pin' central committee include
Robert Binkow, of 18212 War-
rington, a member of Phi Epsi-
lon Pi, who is program chair-
man, and Claire Padover, of
19621 Canterbury, an SDT,
ticket chairman.
The show's stage manager is
Richard Schiller, an A E Pi
from Huntington Woods, Mich.
Jay Keystone, a ,Phi Sigma
Delta from Oak Park, Mich., is

production co-chairman.
Free transportation will be
provided from the Hillel Build-
ing to the performance. Follow-
ing the show, a party will be
held in the Hillel center.
Proceeds from the show will
benefit the United Jewish Ap-
peal.

Center Youngsters
to Celebrate Purim

More than one Queen Esther
and King Ahasuerus will reign
when Jewish Community Cen-
ter Playschool children cele-
brate Purim, Monday, at the
Davison Center. A party for
three and four year olds will
take place 10:30-11:30 a. m. An-
other for four and five year
olds will be held from 2:30-
3:45 p. m.
The children will be costum-
ed as Purim personalities Es-
ther, Ahasuerus, Mordecai, and
Haman. A parade, Purim games
and songs will comprise the
festivities.
Parents will view the greg-
gers and masks made by the
children in class.
Hamantaschen and milk will
complement the program.

Sunday 'Nighters to Have
Purim Dance This Sunday
Karolyn Case, president of
the Jewish Community Center
Sunday Nighters,- announces a
Puriin dance, Sunday, 8:30 p.m.,
at the D. W. Simons branch,
4000 Tuxedo. A fun-packed eve-
ning of dancing and refresh-
ments is planned.

C of H Detroit Auxiliary Annual ,Purim Party Slated
to Sponsor Purim Party by Minkowitzer Podolier

Songs, and stories will high-
light the Detroit Auxiliary, City
of Hope, annual Purim" party,
to begin at 8 p.m.. Thursday, in
the Workmen's Circle, 11529
Linwood.
Guest speaker will be Samuel
Segal, editor of the Jewish Daily
Forward who is known as an
authority on the Talmud. -
Sholem Aleichem tales i n
Yiddish will be read by Miss P.
Katz, Yiddish school teacher.
Yiddish songs and Purim re-
freshments will complement the
evening.
The public is invited to the
party. There will be no admis-
sion charge.

The Minkowitzer Podolier
Society will hold its annual
Purim part, at 7:30 p.m., Wed-
nesday, at Rainbow Catering,
18451 Wyoming. Dinner and
entertainment are planned.
All proceeds will go to the
Detroit Histadrut campaign.
Members are encouraged to
bring their families and friends,
according to William Sehman,
corresponding secretary.
