A surprise party honoring Mr. Eugene Brumer on the occa-
sion of his 60th birthday was held on Feb. 17, at Rainbow Ter-
race. The party for Mr. Brumer, of 18970 Ohio, was attended by
200 relatives and. friends, and was given by his children, Mr.
Ralph Brumer and Mr.-.and Mrs. James KoVacs and his brother
and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Max Brutner.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Fein and faniily, formerly of Otsego Ave.,
'are now residing in their new home at 23580 Moritz, Oak Park.
The family has just returned from New 'York where they attended
the wedding of their niece, Rifki Fisch, to Rabbi Peretz Plotnick,
and vacationed at West Orange, N.J.
. Mr. and Mrs. Mendel Stark, of Broadstreet, are presently
cruising in the Caribbean.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph. Greenbaum, Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Schumtkr, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Shear, and Mr. and Mrs. Alex
Stern left from New York for a' 11-day cruise on the maiden
voyage of the SS Statendam.
Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Weisner, formerly of Wildemere Ave., are
now residing in their new home at 10355 Wisconsin.
Rita Sloan, 13-year-old Jewish Community Center Music
School ,student, has been awarded first prize at the "Solo and
Ensemble Festival," held in Ypsilanti, Feb. 9. Rita, who studies
piano with Julius Chajes, will make her debut recital March 24,
at the Davison Center.

Michael Langham, artistic di-
rector of the Stratford Shake-
spearean Festival, who arrived
back in Stratford fro/4a England
Feb. 16, announced casting for
the two plays which the Festival
lull/_ present during its fifth .an-
nual drama season this summer.
The play's- are "Hamlet," di-
rected by Mr. Langham, and
"TWelfth Night" directed by
Tyrone Guthrie, the Festival's
artistic consultant, who returns
to Stratford as a director after
a season's absence.
As previously announced, the
Festival will feature Christo-
pher Plummer of Montreal in
the title role of "Hamlet" and
as Sir Andrew Aguecheek in
the comedy.
A feature of the 1957 pro-
gram of the Stratford Shake-
spearean Festival in Ontario will
be a two` week Film Festival,
July 8 to July 20, running in
conjunction with the fifth an-
nual season of drama, July 1
to Sept. 7, and the third annual
season of music, July 31 to
Sept. 6.
