Music Festival, 8 p.m., Feb. 24,

Choir will participate in the
concert, to_ benefit the New
York Cantor's Institute.
The festival will be produced
by Cantor Fenakel, of Adas
Shalom, according to John
Lurie, chairman of the event.
Zinovi Bistritzky, assistant con-
certmaster of the Detroit Sym-
phony, will conduct the Adas
Shalom oichestra. Harry Siegel
will direct the quartette. Hon-
ored guest will be Rabbi Jacob
Chinitz, of Cong. Ahavas Achim.
The Cantor's Institute trains
professional cantors in liturgical
music, theory, harmony, "nus-
ach", Bible, Tulmud and allied
subjects. "Support of the institu-
tion is vital," declares Lurie, "in
order to perpetuate synagogue
music and avoid an acute short-
age of hazonim."
Brotherhood can be shown by
Jews for Jews as well as for
Gentiles.

Ed Coffey, educational director
of the UAW-CIO.

the discussion on "The Practical
Means to Implement Brother-
hood in Our Community."

mers, whose recent appearance
at New York's Town Hall won
high praise from music critics,

Week, Dr. Preston Bradley will
be the guest speaker at Temple
Beth El at 8:30 p.m. services
today. He will speak on
"Brotherhood."
Dr. Bradley is the pastor of
the Great People Church of
Chicago, and is chairman of the
Chicago Council Against Racial
Discrimination, a member of
the Mayor's Commission on
Relations and former president
of the Isaak Walton League of
America.
He is the author of eight
books, three of which, "Cour-

Fear," and "Happiness Through

Music Month Concert

Cantor Robert Shapiro, , a na-
tive Detroiter and son of Mr.
and Mrs. Dan Shapiro of this
city, will present a concert of
Jewish music this Sunday in
honor of Jewish Music Month.
The program will be given at
Beth David Jewish Center and
Synagogue, Newark, N.J., where
Cantor Shapiro has officiated
for the last three years. The
concert will feature an ensemble
of 15 cantors.
The young , cantor entered the
Cantors Institute of the Jdwish
Theological Seminary five -years
ago, and has concurrently at-
tended City College of New
York and Rutgers University.
He will graduate this June.

gram of vocal selections by
Cantor Ernest Greenfield. The
evening's planning committee
consists of Mesdames Isaac Kap-
lan, Israel Flam, Arthur Sel-
mar and Joshua Sperka.

S'udath Mitzvah Event

of Agudath Israel of Detroit,
announces a S'udath Mitzvah
celebration at 6:30 p. m., Sun-
