Sunday School Teacher's Courses in Midrasha Spring Semester Program A training program for Sun- day School teachers will be of- fered for a second semester be- ginning Feb. 10. The program, called Leadership TeaChers Training School, was launched by Midrasha, the college of Jew- ish studies, in autumn of 1956. as school newspaper work and Sunday Torah reading. The Women's Institute, a Mi- drasha extension program, be- gan its second semester in Jan- uary: The program offers be- ginner's and advanced work in the Hebrew language, interpre- tation of the Sidur and Jewish history. The major contemporary Hebrew writers are studied in a course given at the Rose Sittig Cohen branch, 10-11:30 a.m., Thursdays. Midrasha extension, in con- junction with the Jewish Cen- ter, sponsors a book review sem- inar which meets bi-monthly in the Berman branch. Member- ship is by invitation. The list of books under discussion is avail- able on request, according to Mrs. Carl Schiller, seminar chairman. Courses to be offered on Thursdays and Sundays are part of a three-year curriculum in the basics of Judaism. The sessions, aided by Rabbis Benjamin Gorrelick, Moses Lehrman and Jacob E. Drive to Aid Israel's Needy Mizrachi Organization of De- troit announces renewal _ of previous years' efforts to secure funds for the sending of $12 CARE packages to aid needy families in Israel. Zvi Tomkiewicz, director of local Mizrachi, stated that his office has a list of hundreds of needy families in Israel to whom such packages will be sent through CARE, at a cost of $12 each, containing meats, sugar, dried fruits and other vital foods.
