"Peanuts for Polio" is the
idea behind a planned inva- .
sion of Northwest Detroit this
Saturday and Sunday by the
Jewish War Veterans and its
Ladies Auxiliary. Members of
both groups will sell the pea-
nuts to aid the 195'7 March
of Dimes. Talking over the
drive are, left to right,
LARRY GUBOW, JWV com-
mander; LEONARD N. SIM-
ONS, board member of the
March of Dimes; BERNARD
L. HOFFMAN, chairman of
the peanut drive; and little
BOBBY SITRON. Bobby, now
four, contracted polio when he
was two. Mrs. Jay Schwartz
is heading the women's ac-
tivities. The veterans will be
posted along Dexter Blvd.
and W. '7 Mile Rd. The March
of Dimes drive is an extra-
curricular activity for JWV,
which is planning its Star
Spangled Revue, "That's En-
tertainment" to raise funds
for its veterans' assistance
program. The revue is planned
for Feb. 17, in the Henry and
Edsel Ford auditorium.
