Petitions for Feb. 18 Primary

By the . Oak-Woodser

The election picture. as it is
currently shaping up in Oak
Park seems to be following a
pattern similar to the fall elec-
tion in Huntington Woods, when
a record number of applicants
filed petitions for city offices.
To date, 11 petitions have
been taken out by Oak Park
residents planning to run for
City Council, while 10 have
been granted to men running
for Justice of
the Peace. The
primary e 1 e c-
ton will take
place on Feb.
18.
The first Oak
Parker to file
for Council was

herd, of 21741
Sussex. Shep-

been waiting for over two years
to file his petition.
Next to file was Mrs. Harriet
Arnowitz, while the third was
Ben Davis. Mrs. Arnowitz is a
member of the Oak Park School
Board.

completed the two years' resi-
dency required by law to hold
city office, would have entered

Spectacular of spectaculars,
this one may not be broadcast
coast to coast by color televi-
sion, nor will it be spread across
the screen of movie theaters in
Cinemascope, but to Oak Park
High School Drama Club mem-
bers, it is just as big and just
as impressive.
The event is the school play,
"A Midsummer's Night Dream"
by William Shakespeare. Star-
ring in the play will be Jeffery
Malkin, Michael Margolin, Rob-
ert Ruda, Dennis Silber and
Judith Krauss.
To be presented at 8:30 p.m.,
Saturday, the play, for various
reasons, has been delayed once.
The play is being directed by
Sheldon Slavin, drama club
sponsor and student assistant
director Judith Krauss.

After going back to New York
for the fifth week on her climb
to the $64,000 question, Oak
Parker Susan Sandler decided
that she "had enough money for
her college education," and quit
the program with $16,000. For
four weeks, Susan amazed horse
racing fans with her knowledge
of the category.

Other major points he recom-
mends adopting for a better Oak
