Staged by Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood Sets Final Rally

The final donor rally in a se-
ries of programs sparking its
26th annual donor campaign is
planned by the Ladies Auxiliary
of the Jewish National Fund on
Tuesday, at Beth Aaron Syna-
gogue.
Mrs. Sidney Ravin, Auxiliary
president, announced that a des-
sert luncheon will be served at
12:30 p.m. Hostesses will be
Mesdames Ben Minns, Milton
Winston, Irving Bloom and
Harry Kraft. -
Guest artist .at the rally will
be Bari Silvern,. a star of Stage
Center Theater, who will pre-
sent excerpts from "The World
of Sholem Aleichem."
Meanwhile, the campaign to
raise $75,000 as this year's goal
is proceeding under the chair-
manship of Mrs. Samuel Krone
and her co-chairmen, Mesdames
Al Schneider and Jack Seidman.

"Fashions Old and New," a
presentation written and di-
rected by Mesdames Sol Slomo-
vitz and Jules Kamen, will be
featured at a donor rally of the
Adas Shalom Sisterhood at 12:30
p.m., Monday, in the synagogue
social hall.

to be held Feb. 6, in the synago-
gue social hall. All members
who have purchased donor
tickets will ' be eligible for
prizes at the rally.
The program for the 'donor
will -highlight the appearance of
Chicago's "one-woman show,"
Sulie Harand, who will offer
her version of "The Gershwin
Story."

JWV to Service Hospital Patients
Patients at the Veterans Ad-
ministration Hospital in Battle
Creek will be serviced on Jan.
20 by units of the Department
of Michigan, Jewish War Vet-
erans. •
A party, including entertain-
ment by an all-professional cast,
will be featured. JWV will pro-
vide gift parcels with fruits,
candy, cigarettes and canteen
books.
The Department is asking
members of all Posts and Aux-
iliaries to participate in wrap-
ping gifts for the party. For in-
formation or to volunteer serv-
ices, call the JWV office.
Larry -Gubow, JWV Depart-
ment commander, in calling at-
tention to the hospital program,
stated that it represents one of
the many services and com-
munity activities performed by
the veterans group.
To help finance the program,
he added, JWV is planning its
annual Star Spangled Revue, to
be held Feb. 17, in the Henry
and Edsel Ford auditorium.
Heading the committe for the
event will be Henny Littman,
chairman, assisted by Al Brick-
er, Mrs. Morton Oppenheirn and
Walter Klein, fund - raising
chairmen for the JWV, JWVA
and Memorial Home, respec-
tively.
