Jan. 19 to Be
JNF Sabbath

The Jewish National Fund
has designated Saturday, Jan.
19, as JNF Sabbath in this area,
as part of JNF Month which
has been proclaimed for Janu-
ary 1'9'5'7.
According to the JNF syna-
gogue committee, rabbis and
officers of several synagogues
have already obligated them-
selves to give their whole-heart-
ed cooperation on this Sabbath,'
by impressing their members
and congregants with the full
impact of Jewish National Fund
programs of land redemption
and land reclamation for the de-
velopment and security of the
State of Israel.
Since Tu B'Shvat, the New
Year of the Trees, which this
year falls on Thursday, January
17, will occur only two days
earlier, JNF Sabbath will take
on added significance.
Speakers in the synagogues
on JNF Sabbath will recom-
mend increasing the tempo of
aid to Israel through JNF by the
distribution of 5,000 Blue-White
boxes in Detroit and Michigan
Jewish homes; by the planting
of more trees; by remembering
JNF on all holidays and family
occasions. Another form of for-
ever linking one's name with
soil of Israel that will be sug-
gested, is to remember JNF in
Wills, and by .making bequests
of insurance policies through
the JNF Foundation.
