Hershman, hon- orary president; Jerry Bielfield, president; Henry M. Rottman, Nathan Yaffa and Morris Dorn, vice-presidents; David Goldberg, treasurer; and Margaret Weiner, secretary. It was reported at the meet- ing that the House of Shelter has opened its home and re- sources to a number of Hun- garian refugees who have re- cently come to this country in search of freedom. Because the present quarters on Taylor have become out- dated, plans are being made to find new headquarters in the northwest section of the city. Facilities of the House of Shelter are used by thousands of people through the year, among them men temporarily out of work or transients in seek of employment. 'baseball team was to go on its southern tour . . That 19'36 team didn't lose a ball game, and won the con- ference championship . . . To this day, it is considered the best of Ray Fisher's 37 teams since 1921 . . Detroiter Joe Lerner of Lerner Plywood, was the regular first baseman, and Herman led the conference in pitching with eight wins and no losses . . His earned run average of 0:89 stood as .Big Ten record until broken in 1952 by Paul Giel of Minne- sota. Herman didn't eat meat out and every meal saw him eating only fish and eggs.. Dr. L. A. Greenblatt Dies Dr. Leo A. Greenblatt, 51, of 19975 Roslyn, a practicing dent- ist here for 25 years, died at Sinai Hospital Saturday night. Funeral services were held at Temple Beth El Monday. A native of New York, Dr. Greenblatt was brought to De- troit at the age of 1. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan Dental School. He was a member of the Detroit and Michigan dental societies, and a former president of the Men's Club of Temple Beth El. Surviving him are his wife, Josephine M.; son, Peter David; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Greenblatt, and brother s, Michael and Albert.
