Syrian Ambassador
Displays His Ignorance

MRS. DAVID BITTKER

In a recent ceremony at Adas
Shalom Synagogue, Arline Phyl-
lis Zaft, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Zaft, of Oak Park
Blvd., Oak Park, was united in
marriage to David Bittker, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Bittker,
of Northlawn Ave. Rabbi Jacob
E. Segal and Cantor Nicholas
Fenakel officiated.
The bride wore a gown of
white, silk peau de soie with a
scoop neckline trimmed in seed
pearls. The panel extended over
the princess-line bodice to the
hem of the floor-length skirt.
The gown was fashioned with
appliques of Alencon lace motifs
and long sleeves, and extended
into a chapel train. Her veil of
white, silk illusion fell from a
princess crown of pearls, and
she c a r r i e d a white Bible
with stephanotis and lily-of-the-
valley.
Carolyn Wise was the bride's
maid of honor, and bridesmaids.
were Madelon Zaft, her sister,
Ellen Skolnick, her cousin, Lor-
raine Bittker, the bridegroom's
sister, and Janet Label. The
bride's younger sister, Wilma,
Zaft, was junior bridesmaid.
Phil Katz served as best man,
and ushers included Sam Krieg-
and Mac Ochs, of New
York, Jerry Paskovitz and Har-
vey Frank, cousin of the bride-
groom.
Following their return from
a honeymoon in Florida, the
couple have taken up residence
on Votrobeck Dr.

Editor, The Jewish News:
I listened to the Syrian Am-

against I s r a e 1. He said that
Israel is disintegrating, and it
will not take long for its de-
struction.
The Ambassador shows his
ignorance when he says • Ameri-
