Advice: from Post Office
on Holiday Mailings

To insure arrival by the
Christmas holiday of packages
and cards, Postmaster Edward L.
Baker this week advised that
they should be mailed no later
than Tuesday.
He pointed out that in some
Post Offices, parcels are limited
to 72 inches in combined length
. and girth and 20 pounds in
weight. Others may be up to
100 inches in length and girth,
with weight allowed up to 70
pounds.
Baker added that parcels and
mail should be addressed clear-
ly, with cards marked for local
and out-of-town delivery. As
an extra precaution, he suggests
placing both the return address
and the recipient's address in-
side the cart on before it is
wrapped.
