rous camel has pulled off a start-
ing solution to a crime police
ouldn't solve and the result is
hat a visiting French professor
c ot his shirt and pants back.,
As reported in the Jerusalem
1 'ost, the case started when the
I rofessor took a swim in the

When he returned he found

ting professor, who, pleased,

Aided by JDC Funds

The Joint Distribution Com-
mittee provided assistance to
166,900 needy Jews in Israel,
Europe and the Moslem world,
the tenth annual issue of the
JDC Statistical Abstract dis-
closed.
The largest g r o u p aided-
99,1a5—were Jews in the Mos-
lem world, including Algeria,
Iran, Morocco, Tangier, Tunisia
and others. In these countries
nearly one of every five Jewish
men, women and children re-
ceived JDC's help, the summary
shows.
Major JDC programs in the
Moslem world included cultural
and religious assistance to more
than 71,000, feeding for 37,395,
medical aid, 24,760; child care,
8,890; vocational training
through the Organization for
Rehabilitation through Train-
ing, 5,550; and other aid.

New Movie Producer
Beverly Hills Mayor David
Tannenbaum, a gentleman vital-
ly interested in Jewish affairs,
who used to make a living as
a motion picture attorney, has
joined the rank of producers as
an officer in Don Hartman Pro-
ductions, Inc. Hartman, former
production chief at Paramount,
is preparing for independent
production of three pictures—
all of them based on stage plays
—"The Matchmaker" by Thorn-
ton Wilder, "The Chalk Gar-
den" by Enid Bagnold and "De-
sire Under the Elms" by the
late Eugene O'Neill.
