David Safran to Address
Junior Division Institute

David Safran will speak at
the third meeting of the Thnior
Division, Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration, annual leadership Insti-
tute, Sunday, at the home Of
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shapero.
His subject will be "Israel To-
day." Movies taken by Safran
in Israel will highlight the dis-
cussion. Walter Shapero is
chairman of the meeting.

ground (1 lb. unshelled)
13/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
12 teaspoon baking powder
V, teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2. cups brown sugar, firmly packed
for measuring
1 teaspoon vanilla

HOLIDAY GREETINGS

Add two tablespoons of sifted
flour to ground nuts and mix
well. Sift remaining flour again
with baking powder and salt.
Combine with floured chopped
nuts, mixing well with fork.
Beat eggs with rotary beater,
adding brown sugar gradually.
Combine both mixtures, adding
vanilla when almost smooth and
stir once or twice lightly. Chill
dough at least two hours. Or
pinch off little balls of dough
the size of a walnut and roll into
"fingers" between palms of
both hands. Chill till baking
time. Bake 15 to 18 minutes at
350°. No shortening required in
recipe. Brazil nuts supply all
richness required.
