Pulpit Series Planned

Dr. Leon Fram will .begin a
series of sermons, inspired by
the new movie, "The Ten Com-
mandments," at Sabbath serv-
ices of. Temple Israel at 8:30
p.m., today. College students
home for Thanksgiving are par-
ticularly urged to attend.
A number of Hanukah pro-
grams are planned by the con-
gregation; including religious
school assemblies, a Men's Club
Hanukah party and a children's
party planned by the Young
Marrieds Group.
The Children's Choir, newly-
organized musical group of the
temple, will make its first ap-
pearance before the congrega-
tion for the Hanukah celebra-
tion.

both young people and their
parents.
At 10:15 a.m., Sunday, the
education committee will spon-
sor a Hanukah workshop. Rab-
bis Israel Halpern and Max Ka-
pustin, Mrs. Leon Burg and
Cantor S. Ackerman will pre-
sent a festival training pro-
gram, to which the public is
invited.
Also on Sunday, the congre-
gation's youth group will have
a wienie roast. High school
members and their guests will
meet at 5 p.m., at the synagogue
before proceeding to Palmer

party for students and their
parents in the synagogue social

synagogue. Parents of boys 11
to 13 are urged to attend a
meeting at 7:30 p.m., Monday, in
the synagogue club room, when
scouting officials will present
credentials for the formation of
Troop 626.
The synagogue also has in
operation a Cub Scout group
for boys 7 to 10.•It is hoped that
an Explorer group soon will be

Eddie Cantor to Emcee

Los Angeles Bond Pageant

Eddie Cantor is to MC the
Festival of Freedom at the Los
Angeles Shrine auditorium, with
tenor Jan Peerce appearing in
the program. Golda Meir, For-
eign Minister of the State of
Israel, will be introduced to the
audience by Mr. Cantor, who
has made a- special appeal to
Hollywood to support the Israel
Bond Drive in this hour of ex-
treme peril.
