Message from Dr. Neumann. Urges
All-Out Support of Balfour Concert

The "solemn responsibility" of
the Zionist Organization of
.America to meet the demands
of the crisis in the Middle East
was emphasized by Dr. Emanuel
Neumann, ZOA president, in a
message to Harry Cohen, chair-
man of the Piatigorsky concert
to be held this Saturday eve-
ning at Masonic Temple, under
sponsorship of the Zi6nist Or-
ganization of Detroit. .
In sending his greetings to
the Balfour Concert committee,
Dr. Neumann
made an urgent
appeal to Zion-
ists of Detroit
to "bring about
the . fullest
mobilization of
resources a n d
manpower to
meet the de-
. mands of the
crisis in the Piatigorsky
Middle East."
Dr. Neumann noted that the
ZOA has "undertaken a solemn
responsibility for informing all
sections of Arnericdn public
opinion concerning the under-
lying causes of the Middle East
conflict sad the basic issues in-
volved in it — issues vital to
American. interests and to the
Free World.
"Surely, no more important
task has confronted us since
Israel's establishment. It re-
quires loyalty, devotion and ex-
traordinary efforts — qualities
in which the ZOA has not been
lacking in years past and which

must be brought to bear on the
present situation and for years
to come," he said.
Dr. Neumann concluded his
message by expressing his belief
that - the "devoted Zionists of
Detroit will meet the challenge
of this critical hour, that they
will act without delay to pro-
vide the ZOA with the means
required' to fulfill its respon-
sibilities, and that we will go
forward to achieve peace and
security for Israel and a bright
future for the Jewish -people
everywhere.",
