bridegroom's *brother - in - law,

Following a honeymoon in
Washington, D.C., the couple
will reside in Virginia while the
bridegroom completes his mil-
itary service in the Air Force.

A family dinner is planned
this Sunday in honor of. Mr.
and Mrs.. Louis Margolis, of
19916 Robson, who will be cele-
brating their golden wedding
anniversary.
Married on . Nov. 25, 1906, in
Middleton, Conn., the couple
came to Detroit five years later,
and have lived here since that
time. Mr. Margolis is the foun-
der of Margolis Furniture Co.,
and remains active in the busi-
ness yet.
The Margolises have two
daughters, Mrs. George Zalman
and Mrs. Max Garland; four
sons, Irwin, Herbert, Nat and
Arnold; 14 grandchildren and
three great grandchildren.
Active in numerous social and
philanthropic organizations, Mr.
Margolis is past president of
the Israel Club of Detroit,
president of the Margolis-Novet-
sky Family Club and a member
'of the Furniture Club of De-
troit.
Mrs. Margolis is affiliated
with Hadassah and the Amer-
ican Jewish Congress. Together,
they belong to Bnai Brith, Brith
Sholom and Temple Israel.

A new branch of TOPS (Take
Off Pounds Sensibly) has been
formed' in the Northwest sec-
tion, meeting Thursday eve-
nings, at Mumford High School.
The national, non-profit or-
ganization is 'approved by the
American Medical Association,
which aids in, providing diets
for the weight losers.
