Hanukah Workshop Set
by Suburban Sisterhood

A Hanukah workshop is
planned by the Sisterhood of
Young Israel Center of Oak-
Woods at 8:30 p. m., Wednes-
day, in the synagogue.
Those attending are requested
to bring scissors, although all
materials will be provided.
Items for the Hanukah auction
and premium stamps should
also be brought by members.
A social hour will follow the
workshop, which will highlight
window decorations.

tion of its proposed synagogue in Southfield Township of Cong.

construction will begin shortly. Work on the grading started
several weeks ago. Construction was temporarily delayed
pending approval of its building permit by the Township
officials. It is expected the building will be ready for occu-
pancy by next summer.

Formation of a Junior Con-
gregation for boys and girls
through the age of 14 was
announced this week by Erry
Loewenthal, youth committee
chairman of Young Israel Cen-
ter of Oak Woods.

Ten charter members of the
group, all around Bar Mitzvah
age, have been elected to serve
as officers and religious func-
tionaries. Cantorial and Torah-
reading assignments are being
made on a volunteer basis.

for Congregation Beth Shalom
Sisterhood's Hanukah program,

production will be given by the

Center Auditorium.
At the event, "Easy-Do-It-
Yourself Kits" for making Ha-
nukah decorations, toys and
other items appropriate for Ha-
nukah gifts, will be on sale.
