Detroit's Goo- I for Nov. 26th

Notes from the Chairman's Desk

In previous "notes" I have tried t,o convey two basic ideas.
First, that we have an inherited obligation, by reason of our
faith, to support the State, of Israel through purchase of Israel
Bonds. Second, and what hits us personally, the dignity . of Jewry'
is in the, balance. How many of us realize that by the rise or
fall of _that tiny democracy in the Middle East, our children's
privilege of walking with their heads held high is at stake?

Israel has been planned, fought for, and established. One
thing is lacking — her security.

Golda Meir is coming here for one reason only, — to ask you
to lend your. money. Not to leave your homes, not to give your
lives, not to share the hardship and danger of life in Israel, not
even to give of your resources. Only to lend money, at good
interest rates, to your own people. I cannot honestly believe
that any man or woman in America who takes pride in his or
her Jewish heritage can fail to respond.

On November 26th, let us, give Golda Meir a full measure
of our understanding and devotion. Let us give Israel, mit of
grateful hearts, what she needs from us. Let us invest to our
greatest individual capacity in Israel Bonds — that Israel may
rest secure — that we may sleep with clear conscience.

Why does Golda Meir
when the country is f
her history?

The answer is simple.
Mrs. Meir realizes th
fense of her borders
by the continued and
of her inner economy
Bonds.

It is up to us in these
terest of world peace,
Nasser will never be
complished!
