have taken care of the weak—among humans—among animals and perhaps it was the animal
who set that pattern.

fortunate than you—those in need, physically, financially and spiritually. The Jewish race has
long been symbolized by its philanthropic endeavors—by its living monuments for the good it
has accomplished for humanity.

The Jewish race must continue to build these monuments—monuments that will live for-
ever in the hearts and minds of the entire human race. In this day and age of atomic strife,
death and turmoil, the Jewish race must strive to build and direct its efforts more and more
towards those things which will tend for Peace, health and life-saving for all races—for all creeds.
We, Jews, here in America, can best set that example.
With our medicine we can cure and alleviate pain ;. With our research and laboratory pro-
gram we can train those men and women (doctors and laboratory technicians) who have dedi-
cated their lives to cope with the ravishing, dread, catastrophic diseases that take more lives
yearly than the greatest of wars .. who go back to their communities and build for a better and
more healthful ALL AMERICA.

With our "regardless of race or creed" program, we are doing much to stamp out intoler-

FORERUNNER—Designer of this compactly-built radio-
active cobalt "bomb," just installed at City of Hope National
Medical Center, Duarte, California, believe it points way for
lower cost supervoltage cancer-fighting machines within easy
financial reach of hospitals everywhere. Only eight feet long,
its power equals 2,500,000 X-ray volts. In treatment, cobalt is
moved to position of localizer whose light-beam through treat-
ment cone determines radiation pattern. Room housing unit is
another innovation in radiology: it has no door to isolate
patient from "outside."
