The first of a series of cul-
tural programs planned by • the
District Committee of the Work,
men's Circle will be held at 9
p.m., today, in the Circle Center,
11529 Linwood.
Malke Tuzzman, of Los An-
geles, will speak on "Doctrines
and Values of Jewish Poetry."
Miss Tuzzman, who has several
volumes of published poems, is
known extensively in Jewish
literary circles.
Also featured will be recita-
tion of modern Jewish poetry
by Michael Scherman. Com-
munity singing and a social
hour will conclude the evening,
The Circle Chorus, which just
opened its 24th season, will
present its annual • banquet at
6 p.m., Sunday, at _the Center.
A home-cooked meal served by

Fencer Krieger Trains in NY;
Leaves Nov. 5 for Olympics
Byron K r i e g e r, Detroit's
Olympic fencer, will finish
training for the Olympic Games
with three weeks of intensive
work in New York City, start-
ing Thursday, to top off a sum-
mer of practicing and condition-
ing for the Olympic fencing
competitions in Melbourne, Aus-
tralia, Nov. 22 to Dec. 8.
Krieger will fly to Los An-
geles for overseas departure to
Australia, on Nov. 5, stopping
for a day in Detroit en • route to
the coast.
