Weizmann Institute Acclaimed for Heavy Oxygen Production TEL AVIV (JTA) - An in- stallation for the production of heavy oxygen is now in opera- tion at the Weizmann Institute of Science at Rehovot. The installation, which will produce three kilograms of heavy oxygen water a year, was set up by Dr. Israel Dostrovsky, of the institute staff, with the aid of Dr. Joseph Gillis, a mathematician on the staff. Another by-product of the process now in operation is the light it throws on the problems water distillation. It is thought that valuable information will be obtained on the problem of de-salting water. Any new source of fresh water would be of importance in coping with Israel's shortage of water. El Al Expects Timely Delivery of Planes NEW YORK, (JTA) - El-Al Israel Airlines here issued a de- nial of a report from London which stated that the delivery of Bristol Brittania turbo-prop aircraft to the Israel Airlines will be delayed by three to six months due to technical diffi- culties. El-Al said that there is a slight delay in the introduction into service of "Brittania 100," but the production of the long- range "Brittania Mark 310"- ordered by the El-Al Israel Air- lines-is continuing without any delay and that there are no grounds to assume that a delay in delivery will occur. "The current delay on the short-haul version of the Brittania does not affect in any way the pro- duction of our own models," the El - Al statement empha- sized. New Jersey to Receive Israel Commerce Citation NEWARK, N.J. (JTA)-New Jersey wil be the first state to receive a citation from the American-Israel Chamber of Commerce at a dinner here Oct. 3. The not-so-melancholy Borge will have just completed an un- believable 107 weeks at the Golden Theater, New York, dur- ing which time he missed ex- actly one matinee performance of a grand total of 849, due to a severe cold and a temperature of 104. Poland Refuses to Allow Mass Emigration to Israel LONDON, (JTA) - Polish Premier J o's e f Cyrankiewicz made it clear at a press con- ference in Warsaw that the Polish government will not per- mit mass emigration of Jews to Israel, although it will permit Jews to leave the country if they can prove that they wish to emigrate to Israel to join their families. The views expressed by the Polish Premier are reported in "Folkstirnme," a Jewish news- paper reaching here from War- saw. years of painstaking work, and will mark a high point in Can- tor Henry's life. Several hours before his illus- trous father had died, he said to Henry, "At least I know that when my time comes I will have left my son who will see to it that my works will not have been written in vain. You, Henry, will write new accom- paniments to them!' The young student son, Henry, who today looks much like his happy and ever-smiling father, recognized t h e t ask as "co- lossal." However, it was his fa- ther's wish, and he would ac- complish it. Hundreds of melodies with the indicated words but no ac- t o m p animents, arrangements without words or actual sing- ing lines were a jigsaw puzzle. It took 23 years to decipher, and then came the task of writing accompaniments to the inter- pretation and the use of Hebrew modal harmonies. Cantor Henry Rosenblatt, whose stage name i s Paul Dennis, completed the monu- mental work, and in October, King Brand of New York will issue the first of four numbers of the hitherto unpublished.
