The Greenbergs were so im
pressed with the people of the
settlement, most of whom are
recent immigrants from Mor-
occo, that they sent a Sefer
Torah for the synagogue of
Brosh.
Guests from all over the area
came to participate in a spon-
taneous ceremony that greeted
the arrival of the Torah, which
was carried to a canopy amid
the chanting of the assemblage
by the Chief Rabbi of Ramle-
Lydda, Rabbi Y. Abihazira.
Brosh is situated close to the
Gaza border.
The Greenbergs are the par-

Young Israel Calls
Organizational Meeting
for Northwest Center
Young Israel of Detroit is
calling a special one-hour meet-
ing at 10:30 a.m., this Sunday, of
all persons who attended High
Holy Day services, under its
auspices, in the northwest sec-
tion.
The meeting, to be held in
the Labor Zionist Institute,
19161 Schaefer, where the holi-
day services also were held,
will seek to establish a perma-
nent Young Israel Center in the
area.
At present, plans are tenta-
tive, but Young Israel leaders
hope to secure the use of the
Labor Zionist Institute for reg-
ular services until the time it
can establish its own perma-
nent quarters.
Sunday's meeting will be con-
ducted by Rabbi Samuel H.
Prero, director of Young Israel
of Detroit, and Rabbi Joshua S.
Sperka.
