Arrest 3 in 1945 Slaying of
5 Released Nazi Victims
VIENNA, (JTA)—The arrest
is disclosed of three former vil-
lage guards, charged with the
murder of five freed concentra-
tion camp inmates in 1945. The
three guards were employed by
the village of Gallneukirchen,
in Upper Austria. According to
the charge, they captured five
men, who had been freed from
the Mathausen camp, when they
halted in the village on their
trek homeward. The five were
seized in a barn, where they
were sleeping, marched to a
nearby garden and shot to death.
