"Chen" Is the
Road to Woman
of Valor
Last week, Mrs. Charles Milan
was introduced as one of the
only ten women in the United
States who was privileged to
wear the Woman of Valor pin,
symbolic of sales of $100,000 or
more, and Mrs. Milan said she
felt lonely in _such an exr_du-
sive group. She may not be lone-
ly long. Mrs. Perry Goldman,
Chen Chairman for Detroit, an-
nounced this week that 145 wo-
men in Detroit were members of
Chen by virtue of their sales
of $2,500 or more in Bonds and
that, of that number, 13 . had
already reached the, "Advanced
Guard" of Chen by selling $30,-
000 or more and thereby obtain-
ing all twelve charms. - Mrs.
Goldman, whose own charm is
so apropos of her Chen Chair-
man ship, said "It 'is incon-
ceivable that the kind of pro-
gram we have planned for the
Fall will. not produce at least
several more "Women of Val-

Officers of the newly formed Evergreen Congregation are
shown at a special meeting at which time a check for $5,000
was delegated for investment in State of Israel Bonds. This
congregation in West Detroit, consisting mainly of young Jew-
ish families, has allocated this money from funds currently
being collected for construction of a synagogue. Funds invested
in State of Israel Bonds draw interest at the rate of 4% and
by special arrangement can be redeemed when building starts.
