Folk Schools Continue Fall Term Registration

Enrollment for the United
Jewish Folk Schools was con-
tinuing this week following the
opening of classes in the nur-
sery and elementary divisions
on Monday.
The state-licensed nursery ac-
cepts pupils aged 31/2 to 5, while

able to boys and girls, 7 to 14.
In addition to Hebrew, Bible,
Jewish holidays, history, Yid-
dish reading and writing, songs
and American Jewish life, boys
may be prepared for Bar Mitz-

The newly-organized Merkaz,
central organization for
strengthening Orthodox Juda-
ism in Detroit, will hold a
Simhat Beth Hashoefah celebra-
tion at 8:30 p.m., Sept. 24, in the
auditorium of Cong. Mogen
Abraham.

"Torah Study for the Adult,"
the evening's theme, will be de-
eloped by Rabbi Leizer Levin.
Also participating will be Rabbi
M. J. Wohlgelernter, who will
speak on "Torah Study in Is-
rael," and Rabbi Israel Flam,
whose topic will be "An Ap-
proach to Torah for the Ameri-
can-Educated Adult."
Rabbi Yaakov I. Homnick,
who will chair the evenings pro-

Sukkot will be sung and re-
freshments served in the syna-
gogue's Sukkah.
The public is invited to at-
tend.
