After spending nearly 20
years at both Roosevelt Ele-
mentary School and Durfee In-
termediate School, Charles H.
Emling has been transferred by
the Board of Education to
Pierce Elementary School.
Emling, who taught health
education at both schools, will
assume the post of Assistant
Principal at the Pierce School,
located at Mound Rd. and Davi-
son.
He started teaching at Roose-
velt in 1939, and, after two
years there, went to Durfee for
10 years. In 1951, he returned
to Roosevelt, where he re-
remained until his new appoint-
ment.
Emling, who lives at 15630
Mapleridge, said that one of the
disappointments of his transfer,
was the fact that he had to
leave an area where he made
so many friends.
' As a critic teacher at Roose-
velt and Durfee, he had many
former pupils return as student
teachers, he said.
