Number of Trees in '56
JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The
Jewish National Fund planted
some 5,000,000 trees during the
1056 planting season, a new rec-
ord for afforestation in this
Country.
Trees were planted in the
Galilee, Jerusalem c orr i do r,
Lachish area and Samarian
Hills, as well as the southern
Negev where More than 1,300,-
000 trees were planted. For the
first time, carob trees, which
provide cattle fodder, were
planted in great quantities.
