programs will be presented
from 10 to 10:30 a.m., on Sun-
days,over
WJBK-TV.

Cantor Ackerman will be
making his first appearance on
television. He was recently
signed by Beth Abraham Syna-
gogue, and came here from the
Great Synagogue in Tel Aviv.
The second program in the
series will be "Day of Judg-
ment," a Yom Kippur program
scheduled for Sept. 9. Partici-
pants will be • Rabbi Hayim
Donin, of Cong. Bnai David,
and Cantor Jacob H. Sonenklar
with the Shaarey Zedek Choir,
directed by Dan Frohman. Max
Biber and Harry Weiss will be
the narrators.
Another Yam Kippur pro-
gram of the Council will be
"Remember Us Unto Life," to
be heard at 10:30 a.m., Sept...9,
over radio station WJR. •
R abbi Milton Rosenbaum,
newly-appointed spiritual lead-
er of Cong. Emanu-El, together
with Cantor. Hyman J. Adler
and the Bnai David Ch040., di-
rected by Abe Silver, will par-
ticipate. Narrator_s will be Mur-
ry Sachs and Mrs. Nathan
Spevakow. Don Miller will be
at the organ.

TEL AVIV, (JTA) — Two ex-Nazi here was fined $1,400

Israeli soldiers were wounded
in an hour-long battle with
- Egyptians along the Gaza strip
border in the Kissufim area last
week-end. The clash . began
when an Egyptian group pene-
trated Israel territory. An Israel
patrol approaching this group
was brought under heavy ma-
chine guri and mortar fire from
Egyptian positions across the
border. The Israelis returned
heavy fire, forcing the Egyp-
til•ns to retreat, but the ex-
cifange across the lines contin-
ued for some time.

After several delays, termed
"unavoidable" by the congrega-
tion, Bnai David Synagogue
will begin construction on the
first wing of its proposed three-
wing structure at Southfield
and 9% Mile, in Southfield
Township.
Plans have been subthitted
to contractors, and the deadline
for all bids to be submitted has
been set for Tuesday. The
building committee will, meet
within 10 days after that to let
Out contracts.
Morris W. Zack is chairman
of the building committee, and -
Isadore Gruskin is chairman of
the architectural committee.
Louis E. Redstone is' the build-
ing's architect.
Meanwhile, plans are being
made for a boys club to meet
in suburban Francis Scott Key .
School, Jerome and Rosemary,
in Oak Park.' Boys 13 to 17 will
meet at 9:30 a.m., each Sunday,
under congregational auspices.
Rabbi Hayim Donin -an-
nounces that emphasis will be
placed on religious, cultural,
social and athletic activities.
Jerry Godfrey has been named
to lead the club.
Applications will be accepted
between 10 a.m. and 12 noon
on Sept. 9, at the Key School,
with the first meeting scheduled
for Sept. 16.
