A Woman of Valor

This Woman of Valor pin is
awarded to women who attain
a goal of $100,00 in Israel Bond
sales. It is a golden circlet of
olive leaves pierced by a sword

On June 5th this year the Detroit Com-
mittee for State of Israel Bonds formally in-
stalled IrWin L Cohn as 1956 Chairman of the
ComMittee and paid much deserved tribute to
the departing 1954-55 Chairman, Phillip Stoll-
man, at a "Security Dinner for Israel." Here
to officiate at the ceremonies and address the
assembled dinner guests in the Grand Ball-
room of the Statler Hotel was Abraham Fein-
berg, President of the Development Corpora-
tion for Israel.

In recognition of the outstanding services
that Mr. Stollman has rendered the Bond Or-
ganization, and his devoted work to better the
lot of Jews everywhere, State of Israel Bonds
presented Mr. Stollman with an ebony placque

upon which was mounted a golden relief map
of Israel and an engraved plate testifying to
his stalwart support of the new State. At the
same time, David Safran, Chairman of the
Executive Committee of Bonds was presented
with a Jerusalem Bible inscribed on the flyleaf
with an attestation of his memorable work for
and devotion to the cause of Israel Bonds.

additional $10,000 worth of
Bonds they buy or sell, they
are awarded a seal which is
affixed to the placque. When
six seals have been affixed
to the placque, the woman
receives her Woman of Valor

RETIRING CHAIRMAN HONORED

Officers on January 31st, Mrs.
Joseph Katchke, 1955 Chair-
man of the Women's Division
and Honorary Chairman of
the 1956 Board, received a
placque of honor from Mrs.
Michael Stavitsky, National
Chairman of the Women's
Division. The ebony placque,
mounted with an engraved
relief map of Israel and a
testimonial inscription signed
by .officers of the Develop-
ment Corporation for Israel,
was awarded to Mrs. Katchke
in recognition of her devoted
service on behalf of State of

Israel Bonds.

Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt was the speaker at Shaarey Zedek
Synagogue when members celebrated the • close of their Con-
gregational Israel Bond Campaign, February 11th. The drive
for Bond funds was undertaken by the Shaarey Zedek Board
of Directors who also served as the Bond Committee. Samuel
C. Kovan served as Bond Committee Chairman and was ably
assisted by his' Co-Chairmen Dr. Max Lichter and Abraham

B'nai B'rith Mobilized for Bonds

The Greater Detroit Chapters of B'Nai B'rith turned their
Spotlight on Israel Bonds on Saturday evening, February 4th,
at a giant rally held in the Masonic Auditorium. The assem-
blage that evening was addressed by Dr. Frank Kingdon,
