Packing for a two-month trip
to Israel, Mr. and Mrs. William
Hordes recalled an earlier visit
in Israel, 51/2 years ago, when
they were presented with a
unique Shofar by a Yemenite
community.
They will leave from New
York Wednesday on the S.S.
Israel, and will be the •guests
in Herzlia of their children;
Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hordes,
and grandchildren, for the Holy
Days. They plan to revisit the
Yemenite community that hon-
ored them with the Shofar gift.
While in Israel, the Hordeses
will participate in the planting
of initial trees in the 'Mile of
Trees" in the Negev that has
been contributed, with a $4,000
gift, by the Hordes Family
club. This club consists of 19
members, each of whom has
written an insurance policy
ranging in amounts of $100 to
$500 with the Bnai Zion. The
group virtually considers itself
a branch of Bnai Zion. Bnai
Zion has not had a branch here
for more than 25 years.
Two "Miles of Trees" already
have been planted in the Negey
in honor of both Mr. and Mrs.
Hordes.
