In a double-ring ceremony,
performed Aug. 12, at Beth
Aaron Synagogue, Elaine - Aud-
rie Tanzman, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Joseph Tanzman, be-
came the bride of Paul Russ-
man, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Russman. Rabbi Benjamin H.
G-orrelkck and Cantor Ihil Gil-
din officiated.
The bride's gown was of white
mousseline de soie with a fitted
bodice. The neckline was ap-
pliqued with re-embroidered
lace which was carried out onto
the front of the gown.
The skirt fell into a chapel
train and was caught into a
bustle back after the ceremony.
Her fingertip veil of silk illu-
sion was held by a cap of tiny
seed pearls. She carried a cas-
cade of white orchids and steph-
anotis atop a white Bible.
Harriet W e i z man was the
bride's maid of honor, and
bridesmaids were Mrs. Arnold
Tanzman, her sister-dn-law; Mrs.
Robert- Russman, • the bride-
groom's sister-in-law; -Mrs. Marc
Bomze, Mrs. Jack Strickstein
and Rosara Wine. Melissa Ann
and Michelle Hope Russman
were flower girls.
Alvin Russman was his broth-
er's best man, and ushers in-
cluded Arnold Tanzman, the
bride's brother, Robert Russ-
man, another brother of the
bridegroom; Marc Bomze, Dr.
Ronald Trunsky, Herbert Rosen
and Martin Cohen, the bride's
cousin.
Out-of-town guests attending
the ceremony were from Ro-
chester, N. Y.; Albany, N. Y.;
Buffalo, N. Y.; Utica, N. Y.; Chi-
cago, Ill.; Alentown, Pa.; Shaker
Heights, O.; Toledo, 0., and
Louisville, Ky.
Following a honeymoon at Ni-
agara Falls and the Concord
Hotel in the Catskills, the young
couple will take up residence
on N. Norfolk Ave.

Mrs. Joseph L. Shawmut, of
Miami, Fla., formerly of Bos-
ton, announce the marriage of
their daughter, Anita M. Berg,
of Brookline, Mass., to Max
Hearshen, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Hearshen, of Detroit. The
wedding was solemnized July
19, in Brookline, where the
couple has taken up residence.
Both are members of the pro-
fessional staff of the State of
Israel Bond Organization.

troit's City of Hope Cancer
Fighters were in St. Louis, Mo.
this week to attend the second
Midwest Regional conference of
the City of Hope Medical Cen-
ter in Durate, Calif.
Meeting at the . Chase Hotel,
the delegates attended work-
shops and medical and plenary
sessions. Heading the medical
panel was former Detroiter, Dr.
Eugene Roberts, now a member
of the City of Hope research
staff.
Attending the parley were the
following Detroiters, who joined
with delegates from Ohio, Illi-
nois, Michigan, Indiana, Wiscon-
sin and Missouri:

The fourth annual • picnic of
the BETH ABRAHAM MEN'S
CLUB is planned for 9:30 a.m.,
Aug. 26, at Lola Valley Park,
where a variety of activities and
contests are scheduled. for per-
sons in all age groups. A soft-
ball game between the Men's
Club and Youth Group will be
featured. Those planning to at-
tend should bring their own
lunches; however, milk, i c e
cream and pop will be served.
The site can be reached by driv-
ing out Six Mile to Kinloch and
turning left to the first grove on
the right.

The sale of the Sidney-Hill
Downtown Health Club to a
group of local community and
business leaders was announced
here this week.
Under the new ownership,
officers of the corporation will
be Louis J. Gordon, president;
Jack KelLman, vice - president,
and Charles Levin, secretary-
treasurer.
Immediate plans call for re-
furnishing the club facilities
