CO Veterans Council Backs Senate Resolutions Robinson-Smith Rites Solemnized July 31 A resolution pending before the United States Senate assert- ing the right of U. S. citizens to military duties in overseas bases, regardless of religious discriminations imposed by these countries, was unanimous- ly endorsed at the July meet- ing of the Allied Veterans Council. The Senate resolution (SR No. 298) states that any attempt by foreign nations to create re- ligious distinctions among U. S. citizens "is repugnant to our laws and intolerable to our principles." The AVC of Wayne County is composed of delegates of the local units of 23 national vet- eran organizations, including the Jewish War Veterans. z MRS. DAVID ROBINSON Lois Joyce Smith, daughter of Mr. and and Mrs. Barney Smith, and David Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. - Ely Robinson, were -united in marriage in a cere- mony performed by Rabbi Morris Adler, on July 31, in the Sheraton - Cadillac H o t e 1. A dinner and reception followed the ceremony. The bride wore a Roman bridal gown of Moyer Agen in- fluence, fashioned of Italian antique taffeta. The small Bas- que was firmly fitted with a deep drape shoulder collar, em- broidered with Renaissance lace. Her full-length veil of - rose- pointe lace was a family heir- loom for many generations. Mrs. Mark Schumann, of Shaker Heights, 0., was matron of honor, and bridesmaids were Barbara Weinbaum, Barbara Stone, Loretta Wisok, Gloria Jacobs, Jenniee Kantor, Carolyn Wagstaff, Sally Michaelson and Ann Weback.
