Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Leemon were honored recently on
their 40th wedding anniversary with a brunch on July 15. The
couple was presented with a certificate by their children inscrib-
ing their ,names in the Jewish National Fund Golden Book. About
60 persons, including members of the immediate family and close
personal friends, attended the celebration.
Mrs. Bessie Forman, of Elmhurst Ave., has returned here
from an. extended stay in New York, Massachusetts and Montreal,
Quebec, where she visited with relatives.-
Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Scheflin and daughters, formerly of
Gilchrist Ave., have moved - to their new home in Oak Park.
Currently visiting- with them are Mr. Scheflin's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Joe Siegel, of New York.
Miss Beverly Franzblau, of 18651 Roselawn, left recently
aboard the SS Fredricka for an extended stay in Europe and
Israel.
Mr. Allan J. Roth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred • Roth, of Tyler
Ave., will leave Saturday by air for a stay in Seattle, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Stein, of Parkway Dr., will leave soon
to join their son, N. J. Stein, who is currently in HonOlulu, for
an extended tour of the Orient. They will return home in time
for the High Holy Days.
Recent guests at the Hotel Riviera, Las Vegas, Nev., were
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Brooks, of 17508 San Juan, Mr. and Mrs.
Irwin Aran, Mr., and Mrs. Louis Greene, of 19165 Hubbell, and
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Riegel, former Detroiters now of Phoenix,
Ariz.
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Levy, their daughter, Mrs. COnstance
Fidler, and grandsons, Robert and Bruce, are in Los Angeles,
Calif., `to attend the wedding of their son and brother, Dr. Paul
Seymour Levy, to Miss -Nancy Lein, daughter of Dr. and Mrs.
Julius Lein, of that city.
Currently in Detroit as the house guest of Rabbi Jacob
Haberman, 3244 Monterey, is Rabbi Israel Rabinowicz, former
Grand Rabbi of Keshinof, a seventh generation descendant of
Baal Shem Toy, the founder of the Hassidic movement. Rabbi
Rabinowicz serves as spiritual leader of Ohel Israel Synagogue,
in New York City.
Mrs. Theresa Bachrach, of Santa Monica, Calif., is currently
visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Linsky, of Lauder Ave., and
Dr. and Mrs. Charles Ditkoff, of Roselawn Ave. She will remain
here through the first week in August.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving Maggin (Lue Helfgott) are now residing
in their new home at 20541 Huntington.

Veterans Hospital on July 30.
They will take 20 veterans to
Detroit for a ball game and din-
ner afterward, states Mrs. Ann-
ette Lipman, chaliman. She is

Benton, Esther Goldman, Hel-
ena Gavorin, Leah Hofman and
Mildred Friedman.

cently entertained 35 patients
from Arbor Veteran.; Hospital
at a wienie roast in Kensington
Park. Arrangements were made
by Fannie Kaplan, hospital
chairman, and Hannah Stein-
