A surprise cocktail party honoring Mr. Irving Wohlman, of
Snowden Ave., on his 66th birthday was given recently by his
children. About 100 guests helped celebrate the occasion. Mrs.
Allen Schiff, his daughter from Los Angeles, Calif., also was
present.
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Smith (Selma Cohen), after a six-year
residence at Cuyahoga Falls, 0., are now residing at 15141
Kenton, Oak Park, Mich.
Mrs. Irving Goldsmith recently entertained 30 members of
the Sigma Alpha Mu Mother's Group at a luncheon in the Hill-
crest Country Club, Mt. Clemens. The group is affiliated with
Sigma Iota Chapter on the Ann Arbor campus of the University
of Michigan. Mrs. Daniel Siegel has been president for the past
eight years.
Mr. Julius Chajes, director of music at the Jewish Community
Center, will present 13-year-old pianist, Susan King, in her
debut recital at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Davison Center. Miss King
will be heard in compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Schumann,
Debussey, Bartok and Rachmaninoff. The concert is open to the
public at no charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Jacobs, of 4077 Elmhurst, last Saturday
celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at an open house
reception with their children, Mr. and Mrs. L. Jacobs, Mr. and
Mrs. D. Segal, Mr. and Mrs. F. Rubin, Mr. and Mrs. Z. Lopata
and Mr. and Mrs. - H. Gussin; their families, friends 'and 10
grandchildren. In last week's edition, The Jewish News listed
the address incorrectly. -
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Naimark are now residing in their
new home at 19130 Stansbury.
Dr. and Mrs. Albert H. Schrut (Selma Neiman), of Pontiac,
Mich., will leave on Sunday for California, where Dr. Schrul
will assume a position on the medical staff of Veterans Admin-
istration Hospital and on the teaching staff of the UCLA Medical
School. They will make their home in Los Angeles.
Miss Ilene Fivenson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 0. Fivenson,
of Cadillac, Mich., was the recent weekend guest of Miss Lois
Waldman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B. Waldman, of Oak Park.
Both girls are sophomores at Michigan State University.
Mr. Allan J. Roth, son of Mr .and Mrs. Fred Roth, of Tyler
Ave., will leave Saturday for several days in Minneapolis, Minn.

Mrs. Harry Becker, chairman
of the program, there will be
oils, water colors, sculpture,
ceramics, jewelry and mobiles.

Assisting Mrs. Becker in ar-
ranging the program are Mes-
dames Sidney Weisman and
Harry Singer, co-chairmen; Sid-
ney Wigler, executive secretary;
and Henry Praiser, hostess
chairman for a reception to be
held during the exhibit.
Proceeds from the sale of art
work shown will go toward
ORT's newest project, the Tel
Aviv Center, which is a large
vocational training center.
When completed, the Center
will house a network of build-
ings, including schools, each
specializing in skills of heavy
industry and mass production.
ORT's sthOol system em-
braces 27 countries where trades
are taught to children. Emer-
gency ,adult training programs
have been established in North
Africa and Iran.

Netherlands Woman Honored
For Saving Jews From Nazis

AMSTERDAM, (JTA) — Mrs.
G. Wysmuller-Myer, a member
of the City Council, was honored_
here for her activities in the
Dutch Resistance Movement
which resulted in the saving
of a great number of Jewish
children and adults from Nazi
extermination. The city coun-
cillor was honored by the Jew-
ish community on the occasion
of her sixtieth birthday.

DETROIT POST will install
new • officers Sunday evening,
at the Memorial Home. They
are Leonard L. Radner, com-
mander; Arthur M. Lang and
Murray Levine, vice-command-
