Our Letter Box Jews' Right to Israel Asserted in Bible Solomon Chesluk Pleased with Kashrut at Elite Editor, The Jewish News: As a reader of "The News" of May 18, I noticed the shocking account of Edwin M. Wright of our State Department, in which he questioned the Zionist argu- ment of- the Jews' right to pos- sess the land of Israel.. He charged the Patriarch Abraham with aggression in Palestine. But Abraham -merely obeyed the command of God, according to the Book of Gene- sis, Chapter 12: : "Now the Lord had said unto Abraham, get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee. and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And Abraham went forth to the land of Canaan." And from Verse '7, "And the Lord appeared unto Abraham and said: "Unto thy seed will I give this land." Which is now Israel!
