Technion Head Calls for 'Israel -
Research and World Trade Center

Establishment of a Research
Center for World Trade under
joint sponsorship of government
and industry was urged as the
first step in organizing Israel's
industrial potential to compete
in international commerce.
The proposal was made by
Benjamin Cooper, president of
the New York engineering firm
of Taller & Cooper, Inc., speak-
ing befofe the Technion-Israel
Instittite of Technolog-j- in Haifa.
The center, as advocated by
Cooper, would provioe a de-
tailed analysis of world-wide
markets and individual needs
and tastes, with a view to
opening new export opportuni-
ties for Israel.

On the basis of such a cen-
ter's findings, Cooper declared,

Israel's economy can be de-
veloped on a planned, scientific
basis that will utilize the most
modern methods of research
