Miss Solomon and her fiance attend the University . of Miami

he is a member of Thu Epsilon Phi. Her brother also attended

On Friday, May 25, "Sam-
my's" - will be the scene of
Mumdord's second annual speech
banquet. A nine course dinner,
music, and a talk by Vic Hur-
witz, program director of WWJ-
TV will be included in the eve-
ning's fun.

This summer, John Marwill

fortunate enough , to visit Eu-
rope, as guestS of the American
Field Service, a national gov-
ernment agency. These two

lected by the service, and will
be visiting families in Sweden
and England respectively.

presenting the "Platter Chatter,"
a casual dance, on May 26, at
the Jewish Center. Frank
Simms, well-known disc jockey,
will be spinning the platters

Thursday, Mamselles Retail-
ing Club gave a glamorous fash-

and Alan Rosenthal.

The winning performances in
the Michigan Forensic contests,
held recently, were given by
Louis Pearl, Joe Dennis, and
Toby Zussman. Others compet-
ing in the contests were Margie
Serlin, Helen Goldman, Helen
Freedman, Marge Panush, Sha-
ron Bernstein, Judy Howell, and
Morley Katz. -
The PTA's Fun Night Variety
show will be held May 23, in
the auditorium.
Starring in the show, which
has as its theme the history of
Popular music from the "Gay
Nineties" to the present are
Margo Woolf, Harriet Levine,
Margo DeBarr, Sylvia Raskas,
and Jack Peleman.
Others in the show, given a
-few months ago and presented
now because of widespread in-
terest will be Gerald Bodzin,
Barbara Herman, Les Sarasohn,
Sandra Stovack, Ted Martin,
and Ma'rgaret Freedlander.

Earl Krentzin, a 26-year-old
Detroit Silversmith, has been
adjudged the winner of the
crafts division prize in the De-
troit Ecclesiastical Art Guild
Show, which opens next Mon-
day, at the' J.L. Hudson Co.
The cash prize won by
Krentzin was for two objects,
his Chalice and Paten (Kid-
dush Cup) and -Mezzuzah, the
latter made of mahogany, sil-'
ver and gold.
The show will continue
through May 26 in the Fine
Arts Gallery on Hudson's 11th
floor.
The Detroit Ecclesiastical
Art Guild shows religious art
of all faiths—paintings, sculp-
ture, ceramic, wood carvings
and special crafts—each year
at Hudson's.
Krentzin, who lives at 13306
N. Norfolk with his wife, the
former Lorraine Wollstein, is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry -
Krentzin, of 3029 Buena Vista.
He is a .graduate of Wayne
University, and holds a mas-
ter's degree in fine arts from
Cranbrook. He is employed in
the styling department of
Chrysler Corp.
Krentzin, who has exhibited
all over the country, won the
1954 Purchase Prize of the De-•
troit Art - Instttute for his
Elijah Cup. The •work is now
in the permanent colle4ion of
the Institute.
