records will return to Israel
again this month, on the basis
of an appeal from President
Itzhak Ben Zvi, it was reported
by Variety, shOw business trade
newspaper. Hampton, now on
a European tour, had not origi-
nally scheduled an Israel stop,
but later arranged to be there
from May 8 to June 12.
According to the report, Pres-
ident Ben Zvi said that the

tant as a "morale builder." The
report also noted that a number
of other "jazz units touring
Europe and the Near East- have
been bypassing Israel because
of the war tension there."

final appearance by "conduct-

Speaking -seriously, Kaye told
his audience that he had been
overwhelmed by his emotional
reaction to Israel and promised
that he would return again soon
to see more of Israel and would
bring his daughter Diana. He
added that he was sure she
would be greeted with great
affection. His tour, which includ-
ed entertaining an Arab school
at Nazareth, was especially wel-
comed by children all over the
country. -
Mr. Kaye also helped to break
