19 Immigrants from
USSR Get to Israel

TEL AVIV (JTA)-Nineteen
immigrants from the Soviet
Union arrived here by plane.
They include Eric Behr who
was kidnapped in 1948 in West
Berlin and sentenced by the
Soviet to five years' imprison-
ment, most of which he spent in
Siberia. After completing his
term he asked for permission
to leave for Israel. Another ar-
rival on the plane was Noel
Bering, veteran Romanian Zion-
ist who participated in the first
Zionist Congress. The 19 immi-
grants included Jews from
Bessarabia and Lithuania.
