To Play at Festival

Mitnia-Frank Rites
Planned for Aug. 21

The 65-piece Mumford High
School orchestra, directed by
Jerome Stasson, will participate
in the annual city-wide instru-
mental orchestra festival for
high schools at 8 p.m., Thurs-
day, in Denby- High.
The orchestra will perform
the overture to Rossini's "La
Gazza Ladra," -1 `Czardas" by
Monti and the "Habenera" from
Bizet's opera "Carmen."
Recently Mumford's string or-
chestra performed over radio
station' WWJ. Soloists were
Stuart Bloom, concertmaster,
and. Linda Eisenberg, a pianist
who recently won the Inter-
lochen intermediate concerto
contest.
