Of Affiliated Young Adults
(Editor's Note: This is
another in a series of com-
munity Young Adult organi-
zaticrns, open to men and

.category.)
By FRANK SIMONS
As one gentleman said, "It's
difficult to know what Young
Adults really want; whatever
it is, it's either illegal, immoral
Or too, expensive."
After looking over this week's
roster of an even half-dozen
synagogue groups with active
Young Adult programs, the val-
idity of such a statement is in
doubt.
.-The organizations are t h e
Beth El Business and Profes-
sional Group (Reform); Young
Israel Young - Adults (Ortho-
dox), the young Peoples
Leagues of Adas Shalom, Bnai
Moshe and Shaarey Zedek and
the Beth Aaron Young Adults
(the latter four all Conserva-
tive).
Temple Beth El
Only newly - organized, the
group hasmet only a few times
and yet appears on its way as
an organization devoted to re-

tivities.
- Meetings are held at 2:15 p.m.,
the third Sunday of each month,
Its membership is open to
young professional and business
men and women, b_etween the
ages of 20 and 35. .

tion for Orthodox. Young

among the other" groups in that
its -Program is strictly carried
on a cultural and education
level. Most of its members
are college students.
Now in its second year, the
group continues to meet once
a month .„in homes of members.
Talks have been given • on a
variety of -subjects from re-
ligion to problems of young
adults. .
. The &ilk socials are the re-
freshment hours -which follow
each talk. Most members belong
to fraternities or sororities at
local colleges or are affiliated
with some other social group,
so that its program is not de-
pendent on social activities.
Information on all of the
above groups may be obtained
by calling their respective syn-
agogue offices.

seems to fall in the 21 to 23
- age category. With approxi-
mately 35 members, the group
meets all year 'round.
Although its programs are
mixed to provide cultural and
educational events, most of its
actiyities are geared toward so-
cial undertakings.
Shaarey Zedek

re-organized group holds two
events each month—one a so-
cial, the other cultural or ed-

many as 100 to 150 attending
• some of the outstanding activ-
ities.
Unlike some other groups
which seem- to have difficulty in
balancing the number of men
to women, there is a -near 50-50
breakdown On its membership
According to the sexes.
The group, is open to men
and women, 18 to 35: The gen-
eral age concentration covers
about 22 to 30.
Beth Aaron
Started only a few months
ago, the organization has risen
quickly to a membership of 35
and has sponsored a very fine
dance. Its success was- obvious
from the start, since the affair
was called its "First Annual
Dance."
With a membership of mostly
college and business people, the -
group finds it best to divide its
time between social and cul-
tural activities.
