The seventh year of World Jewish Child Day again will be
marked by the Detroit Council of Pioneer Women with a can-
nister drive from Sunday through May 6 in all areas of Detroit
and the suburbs. Shown here are Mrs. LEWIS DIAMOND (left),
cannister chairman, and her co-chairman, Mrs. ABE MILLER,
as they show the cannisters that will be distitibuted. Child Day
assumes added meaning in 1956 when Israel faces the economic
hardship of preparing for war, while planning to bring 45,000
North Africans inside its borders. Child Day proceeds will help
bring Israel these youngsters from Morocco and Tunis. Repre-
senting Pioneer Women's chapters in the cannister -collection
are Mesdames Sara Jacobs, Mary Lerner, G. Garmel, Freda
Faigin, Clara Stutberg, Sonia Saslove, Mitzi Field, Fanny Wood-
