Mew job

.

He has just come off the ship, another immi-
grant to Israel from North Africa.
In five hours he'll be hard at work at his
new job — building freedom.
A truck will take him 200 miles away,
from this dock at modern Haifa to a' raw
settler's home in the Negev, Israel's frontier
south.
Around him there'll be a desert to turn
green.
Just a few miles away there'll be a hos-
tile border to worry about, with enemies well
armed Vvith Communist-supplied weapons..
Ahead of him there'll be years of , heart-
breaking, back-breaking work, -and more :,
because of the enemy there'll - be times _of ,
terrible fear and danger.

But in spite of it all, he'll keep-on the
job. He'll keep on doing what all of Israel is

building freedom

doing, newcomer and oldtimer: building the
land, building a new way of life and building
freedom.-

Why? After you have come out of the
hells of oppression and despair, - as have
Israel's people, you hold on to freedom with
every strength.
That is the way he will hold on. He will
welcome help — not so much for himself, as
for others.
In tension-ridden North Africa he left
tens of thousands of others who pray for
their chance to leave as he has done.

Your prompt help can answer those
prayers, can serve to bring at least 45,000
Jews to new life in Israel.
